commitizen plus cz-conventional-changelog: the pnpm commit prompt only. No bump, changelog or check.
For a JS-only release flow add commitlint (PR titles) and commit-and-tag-version (bump, CHANGELOG.md, tag).
Old non-conventional commits need no rewrite. Tag a baseline (v0.1.0). Tools read commits after it.
With commit-and-tag-version a feat on 0.1.0 gives 0.1.1. Use --release-as minor for 0.2.0.
cz is interactive. For scripted commits, pass the answers by a pipe, and pass Co-Authored-By as a git --trailer.
